Getting started with the CLI
Welcome to Kaivo CLI
Kaivo CLI is a coding assistant that lives in your terminal. You open a terminal in your project, type kaivo, and tell it what you want in your own words: “fix this bug”, “explain this module to me”, “add an e-mail field to the form”.
Unlike a chatbot in a browser, Kaivo doesn't wait for you to paste code. It reads your project's files itself, looks for what it needs, then proposes or makes the changes. And it touches nothing important without your approval: before changing a file or running a command, it asks you.
You don't need an API key or a credit card to start. You sign in with your Kaivo account in the browser, once, and that's it.
If it's your first time, read “Install Kaivo CLI” then “Your first session”. You'll be up and running in five minutes.
